I keep track of my activities using an app called Actifit; it’s a blockchain-based fitness tracking app that I’ve been using for a few years! So every restart and reset in life starts with getting fit and trying to stay consistent with it. On Actifit, my goal is to reach 10k steps every day, and I write a small report every day and publish it.
I couldn’t reach 5K or 5K+ on my readings today simply because I wasn’t carrying my phone around most of the time. And the main reason for that is switching my wardrobe to the winter one. Most of my winter outfits are without pockets, and these days I roam around in thermals. It has started to rain now, and there is snow on top of the mountains around us. The weather is really chilly and cold!
Since I came here last year in July, I didn’t have enough winter clothes. So, I got through it with whatever I could buy from the local markets. Then a year went by so fast that I still feel underprepared for the winter this time as well.

Here’s what the mountain tops look like in Parvati Valley these days. Green valleys with the snow cap.
The snow melts away during the day when the sun is bright. The forecast says it’s going to rain this week. So, I’m expecting to see a thick cover of snow this week. It also means we are entering full-fledged winter temperatures, which in our village drop to minus degrees Celsius.

The landscape has also started to change. These changes are very subtle in the valley. First, it was all yellow blossoms after the rain ended and now it’s the season of white flowers on the apple trees. Apple trees have also started to shed their leaves slowly.

In a month, most of these trees are going to be just sticks, and the land is going to turn brown with dried grass and fallen leaves. But now, right now, on a bright, sunny day, this valley looks like this, and I’m so much in love with it.

Also, we’ve got a girl in her heat, and she’s soo hot to everyone around her these days. Kai, in general, accepts nothing less than princess treatment. These days, she’s never off her leash during walks or playtime. Now and then she gets a special ride on my back like a baby.

That’s pretty much how October has been so far- cosy, a little warm and full of surprises!

So, here’s to welcoming the fall, savouring the last of the apples and taking in all the sunshine before the days become too short 🙂
